    Simon Bolivar was born on July 24, 1783 in Caracas, Venezuela. He was born in into a wealthy family who got their money from their copper and gold mines in Venezuela.

    This is an important event in World History because it was one the first revolutions in the world. It was also a sign that the old style of government was no longer working.

    This an important event in world history because he had a lot of historical events during his presidency. One of his most important events was the XYZ affair where there were French spies and they tried to bribe him.

    Simon Bolivar organized this invasion in order to get Venezuela back under their own control. This is when he was given the title of El Libertador by the people of South America. After this invasion, he assumed the role of political dictator of Venezuela.
  • Simon Bolivar writes the "Letter From Jamaica"

    While most people were completely for breaking away from Spain there will still some people who did not agree with their attempt at independence. This caused a terrible civil war to break out within the country and Simon was forced to flee to Jamaica. While he was there, he wrote a letter to the people of Venezuela explaining why they should become independent and what he thinks their government should look like.

    Simon Bolivar was named the president of this country and was disappointed by the constitution it had in place. He left Francisco de Paula Santander in charge while he continued helping other countries gain independence.

    After a meeting between Simon and another man which many believe was about the military struggles of Peru, He was given the role of Dictator of Peru.

    This document was important to world history because it changed the way that American and European countries would interact for the years to come. It stated that European countries could no longer colonize North and South America.

    Simon Bolivar died on December 17, 1830 in Santa Marta, Colombia. It is believed that he may have been killed by tuberculosis.
