Royal Finances
The first incident between King James I and Parliament occurred from 1604-1611. This disagreement had to do with royal finances. King James was raising money for himself without the consent of Parliament. Parliament was mad about this and wanted this to cease. Another part of this fight between King James and Parliament was monopolies. -

Addled Parliament
The next disagreement between King James and Parliament took place from April 5 to June 7 in 1614. It was called the Addled Parliament and it lasted eight weeks. The argument was about how King James wanted more money for himself, but the people did not want to be further taxed. This Parliament did not fix anything and nothing was solved from this occurrence. There was only more hostility between the King and Parliament. -

Thirty year war
The Thirty Years War was a serious of wars that took place between 1618 and 1648. It was one of the most destructive times in European History. The war was mainly fought between the Protestant and Catholic Churches. Because of this war, the fight between James and Parliament mainly had to with foreign policy. Parliament also wanted to debate their own rights and powers which was something James did not care about at all. -
Charles I and Archbishop Laud try to bring the English Church to Scotland
Laud insisted on moving and expanding the Catholic Church to Scotland. Laud wanted the follow by his rules. Scotland was not having that. Laud wanted Scotland's Church to use the Engish Prayer Book. Scotland said no. We do as we please. -

The takeover of Parliament
In the 1630's, Puritans started to takeover Parliament and they became the main influence in the political area. The Puritans disagreed heavily with how King Charles was ruling. King Charles was running the country based only on what he believed or wanted. The Puritans wanted this to change and because of this, King Charles and the Puritans disagreed for years to come. The fighting between the Puritans in Parliament and King Charles was a cause of the major Civil War in England. -
