Andrew Young
Andrew Young was an important Civil Rights Activist. He tutored African Americans Georgia in the areas of, literacy, organazation, and leadership skills. The date on this timeline represents one of the marches he led with an attaxck on police attack dogs. Andrew was also a famous politician. -
March on Washington
The event was designed to shed light on the political and social challenges African Americans continued to face across the country. This is where MLK gave his famous "I have a dream" speech. These marches wanted African Americans to fight for equality and freedom. 200,000 plus Americans attending this historical march. -

Manyard Jackson
Manyord was the first black mayor for the city of Atlanta. He served three terms as governer. He also worked to have the 1996 Olympic games to be in Atlanta.
