I believe that India is a very diverse place full of bulging cultures. They had two Languages Indices, including Amaysim. in ancient India their religions were Buddism and Hinduism. Their beliefs were *Polytheism (the belief in multiple gods) and Animism (the belief that animals have spirits) The ethnic group in ancient India was the *Aryans (indo-Iranian people) -
700 BCE
Muslim "Invaders"
The *MUSLIM(people that practice Islam) came to India in the 700s and brought *ISLAM. They came to India to “invade”. The Muslims changed my culture with Islam. In 1206 the Muslims had made a kingdom in Delhi. The Delhi kingdom was not the greatest empire of their time as it was defeated by the Mughal Empire in 1526. After Delhi was defeated the Mughal Empire was the strongest in India and started to spread rapidly. By the 1600s it had almost spread to all of India. -
Great Britain
When the British came to India they brought the religion Christianity. The goal of the British was to take control of India. In 1849 Great Britains east India company almost had control over all of India. After a rebellion by Indian soldiers, they took control of all of India. In 1885 a group of Indians wanted to have their own government so in 1920 called the Indian National Congress the leader Mahatma Gandi began to protest against British rule and he did all of this calmly and not violently. -
TODAY
Today there are substantial populations of Muslims and Christians in my region. Research shows that eight out of ten Indians say that religion is a big part of their life. around 94% of the Indian population is Hindusim There are 2 official languages which are Hindi and English. English is today in India is known as the most commonly spoken language.
