Emancipation of the Serfs
- Serfs were peasents who were privately owned.
- This was the first of the reforms of Serfdom.
- This Emancipation created freedom for the Serfs, and formed equal rights as well.

- Imperial Guards gunned down unarmed, peaceful protesters.
- This event showed the world the immoral policies of the Russian governement.

- His nickname was Bloody Nicholas because of the many violent protests
- After the February Revolution, his family and him were put in jail.

- The whole royal family was murdered by the Bolsheviks
- Many Russians were still loyal to them
- Many rumors spread that Anastasia, the youngest daughter, survived

- A peace treaty that ended WWI.
- The treaty was between Germeny and the Allied Powers.
- Germany still had bitter feelings about the Allied Forces.

Bolshevik Revolution
The Bolshevik Revolution was when millions of people revolted against Czar Nicholas II, who dragged them into WWI. The people were injuried and were desperate for a revolution. In October, Lenin convinced the Bolshevik party to rebel against the Provisional Governement. They then took power and succuesfully gained control of Russia. -

- Lenin was a Russian revolutionist and head of the Bolsheviks
- He founded the USSR
- He also created the worlds first official socialist state

- Stalin declared himself leader of the USSR
- He became leader of Russia by consolidating his power base
- He took over instead of Trotsky, who was leader of the Red Army
