    Treaty of Paris 1763
    The treaty ended the French-Indian war.
    Marks the start of an era where the British dominated outside of Europe.

    The Quartering Act was an act that forced colonists to let the British soldiers live with them instead of spending money on a place for them to stay.
    Many colonists were unpleased to have to host a solidier who most of the time they were not a fan of.

    The Stamp Act Congress was a meeting that took place in New York from October 7th to the 25th.
    It was the first gathering of elected represenatives and the came up with a plan to protest the new British taxation.

    This declaration declared that taxes imposed on British colonists without their formal consent were unconstitutional.
    It also says how the only people to enforce taxes on the colonies can be the colonies themselves, not the British.

    The Stamp Act was repealed because the colonists decided to boycott everything that Britian tried to tax.
    The vote to repeal the Stamp Act was won 276-168

    The so called "Massacre" which resulted in only four deaths and was caused by a small riot in Boston. It was blown out of proportion by newspapers and caused outrage in the colonies.

    Boston Tea Party
    The sons of liberty disguised as native americans raided a British supply ship and dumped all the tea into the boston harbor. The britsh parliment was outraged and this was considered the first act of rebellion against british rule
  • Intolerable Acts

    The American Patriots named a series of laws placed on them by the Britsish after the Boston Tea Party.
    This act took away Massachusetts' self-government and historic rights.
  • 1st Continental Congress

    The 1st Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from twelve of the thirteen colonies that met on September 5 to October 26, 1774 at Carpenters' Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
    It was a meeting set up in response to the new Intolerable Acts.

    The first battle of the revolutionary war. Tipped off british soldiers march into lexington and concord looking for hidden guns and find a group of militia men. Nobody knows who fired the first shot but it sparked the war
