    The Stamp Act
This law, passed by British Parliament, required all paper products in the Colonies to have a stamp. The revenue from this went directly to England. The Colonists were unhappy because England was imposing direct taxes on them. For over a century they had been used to levying internal taxes in the colonial assemblies. This was the start of the slogan "No Taxation Without Representation" and the Colonies sent delegates to the Stamp Act Congress. The colonies came together to respond to England.
