1.The Treaty or Paris
The Treaty of Paris was signed by the kingdoms of Spain, Portugal, France, and Great Britain. This treaty ended the Seven Year War. -
2. Proclamation Act
The Proclamation Act was created by King Geogre III after the French and Indian War/Seven Years War ended. This Act forbid all settlement past a certain line, which ran along the Appalachian Mountains. -
4. The Sugar Act
The sugar act was and act passed when the similar Sugar and Molasses Act(1733) was about to expire. The Sugar Act required colonial merchants to pay a tax on imported foreign molasses. -
4.The Quarting Act of 1765
After the Quartering Act of 1765 was passed, American colonists were forced to allow British soldiers to stay in their homes at the expense of the colonists. This Act also required colonists to feed the British soldiers, at the expense of the Colonists. -
5.The Stamp Act
The Stamp Act required all American Colonists to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper that they used, for example, legal documents, newspapers, playing cards, other publications, etc,.This Act was the first serious attempt to show Government authority over the colonies. -
6. Stamp Act Congress
The Stamp Act Congress was a meeting that was held in New York that took place between October 7th and 25th in 1765. This was the first meeting with a group of elected representatives from different colonies to protest Britain's new taxes. -
7. Declaration of rights and Grievances
This was written by the Stamp Act Congress. The Declaration of rights and Grievances had put taxes on the British Colonists without them agreeing to it. -
8. Declaratory Act
Parliment repealed the Stamp Act, and so they came up with the Declaratory Act. This changed the Sugar Act to less. -
9. Stamp Act Repealed
There was a four month protest against the Stamp Act. The saying, no taxation witthout representaion is what they were protesting for. -
10. The Townshend Act
The Townshend Acts is a group of six differnect laws named after Charles Townshend. The Townshend Acts were created to raise revenue so that the colonies could afford to pay for their judge's and Governor's salaries. -
11. The Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a fight that happened on KIng Street in Boston between the British and a 'patriot" mob. Several American Colonists were killed during the fight. -
13. 2ommittee of Correspondence
The House of Burgesses thought that each lesgislature should have a committee for them. After a year, more committees began to form. -
13. Tea Act
This act was written by the British and required all Americans to pay taxes on tea. This act resulted in the Boston Tea Party. -
14. Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea party occured after the Tea Act was passed. Americans were angry that they had to pay taxes on tea, so they decided to protest. The Americans dumped an entire shipment of tea overboard into the sea, destroying it. -
15. Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts were laws that were passed in 1774 by the British Parliment. This was suppose to be a punishment for the Boston Tea Party. -

16. First Continental Congress
Twelve of the thirteen colonies were represented in this meeting. This group was brought together to debate and discuss big topics in the world. -
17. Lexington and Concord
Lexingtong and Concord was the battle that started the Revolutionary War. This was between the thirteen colonies and the British. -
18.Battle of Bunker Hill
Early on during the Revolutionary War, the Americans battled the British on Bunker Hill. The Americans did lose, but due to the large amount of British the inexperienced American soldiers killed, the Americans gained a lot of needed confidence. -
19. Appeal to Reason Rejected
This is sometimes called the Olive Branch Petition. This was the last attempt to stop war between the thirteen colonies. This stated the loyalty between America and Great Britain. -
20. Common Sense
Thamos Paine wrote "Common Sense" and it was published on January 15, 1776. Common Sense was used to ask the British Government for independence. -
21. Declaration of Independence
This was a statement that meant the thirteen colonies would be identified as seperate states.This means that they were no longer a part of the British Empire
