  • Stamp act

    Was imposed to increase revenues to meet the costs of the British Empire. It was the first British attempt to raise revenue through taxation. They refused to use the stamps through, riots, and stamp burning.

    Townshed Acts

    There were four acts, passed by the british parliament. They were resisted everywhere with verbal agitation, physical violence.
  • Boston Massacre

    Small British army that was threatened by mob, opened fire and killed 5 people which was soon known as the Boston Massacre. The soldiers were charged with murder and was given a civil trial.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Bostonians got on the ship and started dumping the tea into the water, because of the tax on tea.

    Intolerable Acts

    The British Parliament enacted four measures that became known as the intolerable acts. The Boston Port Act, Massachusetts Government Act, Administration of Justice Act, and the Quartering Act.
