Signed by the Kingdoms of Great Britain, France,and Spain, also Portugal was included as well. France give up all its claimed land in America. -
Proclamation Act
Issued by King George. It was Great Britain acquiring the land the French lost. -
The Sugar Act
Parliament proceeded to modify The Molasses Act which expired. Colonial merchants had to pay an addition 6 cents a gallon of molasses. -
The Stamp Act
Act that meant direct tax on the colonies of Britain America. It required printed material be produced on stamped paper. -
The Quartering Act
British Parliament met and passed this act for Americans. If there wasn't room in the barracks for troops that they be placed in homes and inns. -
Stamp Act Congress
Was a meeting held in New York City. Consisted of representatives from British colonies within America. -
Declaration of Rights and Grievances
Was a document within the stamp act. It made taxes on British colonists without their consent illegal. -
Stamp Act Repealed
Appealed by Benjamin Franklin before the British house. Parliament voted against it. -
Declaration Act
Parliament then agreed to repeal the stamp act as long as the declaration act was passed. -
Townshend act
An attempt by the British to consolidate fiscal and political power over the American territories. -
Boston Massacre
An incident done by the British which led to people being killed. The cause was a mob provoking the British. -
Committee Of Correspondence
An opposition against the British policy. While also establishing political union among the 13 colonies. -
Tea Act
It was meant to reduce the amount of tea held by the British East. -
Boston Tea Party
A political party protest. Formed by the Sons of Liberty. -
Intolerable Acts
A punishment towards the colonist because of the Boston tea party. There were three acts that really angered the citizens. -
1st Continental Act
Delegating each of the 13 colonies except for Georgia. -
Lexington & Concord
The beginning of the American Revolutionary War. The first military engagement. -
Bunker Hill
A major battle. It took place a little before the American Revolutionary War. -
The Olive Branch Petition
Was taken by the 2nd Continental Congress. Final attempted to avoid war between Great Britain and colonists. -

A book written by Thomas Paine. The independence of the colonist from Great Britain. -
Declaration of Independence
The day of independence from Great Britain.
