France.

The French monarchy, as well as the 1st and 2nd estates.

Citizens of the third estate who were unfairly taxed and treated unequally.
Were the efforts to resist successful?
The revolution was mildly successful. It did manage to replace the king, but the majority of conditions remained unchanged. -
Saint Dominique

Equal rights for free mixed citizens.
Where did this occur?
The French colony of Saint Dominique.
Who was the aggressor?
France.
Who was the victim?
Free citizens of mixed ancestry, as well as free black citizens.
Were the efforts to resist successful?
Yes, free black citizens were eventually given the same rights as their white counterparts. -
Venezuelan Revolution (The Electric Boogaloo)
What were they fighting for?
Independence from Spain, and higher standards of living.
Where did this occur?
Venezuela.
Who was the aggressor?
Spain.
Who was the victim?
Venezuelans who were forced to live in harsh conditions
Were the efforts to resist successful?
Yes, they were out of Spanish control, but then recaptured, and finally gained its independence from Spain in 1819, -
Indian Independence Movement
What were they fighting for?
Political freedom, as well as the right to govern themselves.
Where did this occur?
India.
Who was the aggressor?
Britain.
Who was the victim?
Indians who had no political freedom and faced racism at the hands of British officers.
Were the efforts to resist successful?
They were eventually successful, as India gained independence from British rule in 1947 -
Mexican Revolution
What were they fighting for?
Freedom from Spain's rule, as well as better living conditions and equality
Where did this occur?
Mexico
Who was the aggressor?
Spain
Who was the victim?
Mexicans
Were the efforts to resist successful?
Yes, Mexico gained its independence in 1821, and several reforms were made to improve the lives of its citizens.
