A bunch of feudal lords forced King John to sign it, it limited the power of the king and gave rights to mostly the lords but also some rights to the common man. It stated that nobody could be punished if they haven't broken the law, and they have a right to first be judged by a jury of their peers. -

James went to Denmark to fetch his queen, during this time he was exposed to witch hunting and became very invested in witch hunting himself. -

Elizabeth I dies, king James IV of Scotland deemed closest heir to the throne of England. His coronation effectively united Scotland and England. -
Gunpowder Plot Fails
36 barrows of gunpowder is discovered hidden in the House of Lords, ready to blow up James I. The plotters were all arrested and executed. -

James had conflict with the parliament, they wouldn't give him money if he disregarded them. James thinks he's above the parliament and doesn't have to listen to them. -
Charles I becomes king
Charles is the son of James I, he also believes in devine rights of the king. -

Henrietta was French and Catholic, the mostly Protestant parliament was displeased. -

Favourite of James, continues to advice Charles after James dies. Murdered after he keeps giving Charles bad advice, starting needless wars. -

Called by Charles to fund an army against the Scots, sat for 13 years through the entire Civil War. -

A list of crimes Charles I had committed, the document is significent because it deemed that monarchs should be persecuted for their crimes (other than by god). -

Charles officially declares the war to commence, it's Roundheads vs. Cavaliers. Roundheads were the parliament supporters, Cavaliers were the monarchy supporters. -
Scotland joins Parliament's Side in English Civil War
The Scots dislike Charles because he was also the monarch of Scotland, and he had tried to impose the Anglican church onto the Scottish Presbytarians. -

Members of the Long Parliament who didn't want Charles to be executed were thrown out, turning the Long Parliament into the Rump Parliament. -

Charles was declared guilty of treason and beheaded. Oliver Cromwell effectively becomes leader of England. -

England is turned into the Commonwealth of England, the Rump Parliament was in charge and Cromwell was called the "Lord Protector", effectively ruling England. -

Cromwell dies from disease, effectively leaving England leaderless. -

The rump parliament could not hold their power for long and is finally dissolved. A new parliament was called later. -

England vs France and Spain, affected their colonies in America too. Native Americans sided with the French colonies, so it's also called the French-Indian War. -

The Treaty of Paris ends the Seven Years War. Britain wins over France and Spain, but all of them have racked up war debt. -

King George bans land speculation to the west of the Appelassian mountains. -
Stamp Act
Britain taxes its colonies in America to relieve debt from Seven Years War, angers colonists because they had no say in the matter. Stamp Act lasted one year before it was repealed. -

Mob of Third Estate people seize guns and ammunition from the Bastille and destroy it. Some First Estate people got their heads cut off and waved around on sticks. -

Mob of women attempted to kill the queen after hearing rumors that she was hoarding grain. -
Louis's attempted escape to Varennes
Louis and Marie Antoinette tried to escape from Paris into Austria to plan a counter-revolution with the help of Austria and Prussia. They were disguised as servants, but they were busted the next day. The people felt betrayed by their own king, which only fueled the revolution further. -
France declares war on Austria
France ends up being in war with multiple surrounding countries. Some declared war to suppress the revolutionary ideas from spreading, but France went to war with Austria in order to steal their grain. -

Killed by Charlotte Corday, who was a Girondin sympathizer and claimed to have killed one man to save a hundred thousands. Except everybody at first thought Marat was the good guy who sacrificed his life to the revolution and made paintings of him where's he's not ugly. -

Execution of Danton
Danton wanted a more moderate approach to the revolution and did not approve of the killing during the Reign of Terror. Robespierre had Danton and his supporters executed for being anti-revolutionary. -

The National Convention arrested him and a bunch of Jacobins for pushing the Reign of Terror waaaay too far. Also his brother wanted to be arrested alongside him and was also executed on the same day, that's hardcore brotherly love yo. -
