  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act said that for every gallon of molasses or syrups owned by colonist you have to pay taxes to King George. In doing this they wanted to reduce dept from the French Indian War. They also wanted to stop the smuggling of molasses and syrup.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act
    The act said that the British soldiers could stay in the colonists houses for protecting. The colonist had to feed and give the British soldiers a place to sleep. Most colonist were very mad because they only had enough money to feed their own family.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    This Act said that any one with government power can invade your property to see if you were smuggling anything. This Act was passed to stop smuggling and give soldiers more power. The colonist were afraid and annoyed at this Act.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    This Act says that you can only get tea from The East India Company. It was passed to help The East Indian Company by granting them monopoly on tea sales. This made the colonist mad because they were the only company that sold tea so they raised the prices. They could do that because they were the only company selling tea's.
  • Boston Port Act

    Boston Port Act
    This Act was passed so that people wouldn't dump tea into the ocean. The act says Boston can't load or supply ships into the harbor. King Charles passed this act in 1774.
  • MA Government Act an the Administration of Justice Act

    MA Government Act an the Administration of Justice Act
    This Acts says that you can not have private meetings without the government knowing. These Acts were passed because King George the Third, thought Britain was losing control of The Thirteen Colonies.
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This act said that the Quebec would get a lot more land. It was passes to give Britain more land and taxes. The colonist were mad because they are taking land. This event happened on June 22, 1774 in Quebec.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    The Act said that all legal documents had to have a stamp, and the colonist were mad because they had to pay for a stamp. They passes this Act because they could't get The Sugar Act to go away. George Grenville said that the British payed taxes so the colonist had to too. The colonist were very mad.
