    Texans began fleeing from Mexican Armies coming through the West to the East. Mexico began coming up through the Rio Grande, which initiated this flee.

    This was in response to the Battle of the Alamo and ended the Texas Revolution as the Texans won this battle with flying colors. Sam Houston deemed the term, "Remember the Alamo" in this battle as it was a battle cry to finish what they started in that time.

    Santa Anna, General of the Mexican Army, surrendered to Sam Houston who then sent him to Washington for a meeting with Andrew Jackson. This led to the annexation of Anna to Mexico.

    Sam Houston was re-elected on this day for his second term in presidency over Texas. He was a good man with good morals, the people of Texas loved him. He was a war hero and a model for the Republic of Texas and all that was fought for.

    On this day, Texas became the 28th State of the United States. This was a victory in itself as the battles and victories led up to this point in time. President Polk agreed to the joint resolution which allowed the statehood of Texas.
