  • Republic President, Sam Houston

    Texas was not yet a nation, Houston rose up as a leader and along with the Texas government, established boundaries with Mexico.
  • Bowl and Houston Treaty

    Bowl along with the Cherokees moved South to Texas and Arkansas, the two made a treaty and Texas failed to ratify it.
  • The Battle of the Alamo

    A deadly battle that lasted for only an hour and a half fighting over large issues between Texas and Mexico. This was a major moment for the Texas Revolution.
  • US Recognizes Texas

    The birth of the city Houston emerged and became capital of Texas.
  • The Lamar Administration

    The Lamar did not like the Texas Indians, they wanted to attack and kill the Cherokee tribe specifically. Chief Bowels, the Cherokees chief was killed. The capital was moved once again, now to where it remains, Austin.
  • Bowl Died

    Chief Bowl died in the Battle of the Neches.
  • Expedition to Santa Fe

    Lamar created an expedition involving the military, the idea was to get Texas land and create a strong alliance with the people of Santa Fe.
  • Capturing San Antonio

    Mexico claimed San Antonio again, but people of Texas took it back again once more and kicked out all Mexican forces.
  • The Year of Treaties

    Houston had signed many treaties with the Indians that eventually ended war with Texas Republic.
  • Anti-Texas Broadside

    A document that had signatures against the annexation of Texas, this was later rejected by the state's senate.
  • James Polk Running for Office

    James Polk ran for Presidential candidacy.
  • Annexation Approved

    Texas officially became annexed through both the Chambers and president.
  • Voter Approval

    Texas had updated their constitution and were able to vote.
