  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    This act claimed that there would be no further expansion of towns towards the west beyond the Appalachian Mountains. This made new settlers upset. Some wanted to explore more land and get their own land. Britain thought that this would be good since they wanted the land to themselves.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    Great Britain needed more money. What better way than to take it from others?
    Great Britain required that taxes must be placed on all food products that had sugar and molasses in the substance. This caused outrage on colonists which led to protests, riots, etc.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    Great Britain required that all docuements must have a stamp on it to become legalized. These stamps, of course, cost money, and a lot of the colonists did not have enough which caused anger throughout the colonies.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    Based off of four other acts. These act that was passed by Great Britain states that taxes most be placed on imports such as glass, tea, lead. The colonists could only buy these items from Great Britain, no where else. Thus, leading to frustration, angry, and sadness.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The declratory act was passed after the Stamp Act was removed. This act stated that Britain was able to pass laws and regulations throughout the colonies. This made colonist scared because they new that this meant that there were more laws and acts to be passed. Great Britain was happy.
