  • Period: 1096 to 1291

    The Crusades

    One of the important events that happed during the crusades was the siege of Antioch. It lasted Oct. 20th to June 28th 1098. The significance of this event was that it was the beginning of the journey of the first crusade in holy lands. The second event was the battle of Civetot. This battle was fought in 1096 and was the first notable armed conflict between Christian and Muslim forces. The third one is Siege of Damascus. It lasted July 24-29th 1148. Crusaders stormed in the city and sieged it.
  • Period: 1347 to 1353

    The Black Death

    One event that happened during the black death was the daughter of king Edward lll passed away from the plague on Sep 2nd 1348. The disease hit people and it spread quick. A second event that happened was 3000 Jews were killed in Germany. The people who survived the black death were destroyed by mobs in 1350. By the end of 1351 there were no Jews in Germany. The third event is the great fire of London. It happened sept. 2nd and it destroyed 13,000 houses, 89 churches, and 52 guild halls.

    Early Renaissance

    One event that happened during the early renaissance was the Gutenberg bible, published in 1454. The bible was the full-scale that printed in Europe. There was only 48 copies made. The second event was when Michelangelo made David in 1504. The sculpture symbolized independence and strength. A third event that happened during this time was the first modern atlas made. It was printed in 1570 by Abraham Ortelius. The creation of this helped people travel places and find about history in places.

    Age of Exploration

    A huge event that happened during the age of exploration was Columbus discovered America. This made it possible for European Countries to exploit and colonize people and their lands. Another event that happened was that Spain and Portugal became leaders in the age of exploration. Spain grabbed Americans while Portugal had brazil , Asia and India. A third event that happened was Balboa discovered the Pacific Ocean . The discovery benefitted people by bringing great explorations and technology .
  • Period: 1496 to 1527

    High renaissance

    One major event that happened was Leonardo de Vinci painted the Mona Lisa. He started painting in 1503 and finished in 1506. A second event that happened was Henry Vlll became the king of England. He established the Church of England and his love for it. The third event that happened was Johann Gutenburg created the printing press. The invention of this helped share knowledge faster. Another benefit from this was that it advanced the Renaissance and the English language.

    The Protestant Reformation

    1: The peace of Augsburg. During this event, rulers allowed colony's to choose their own religion and was the beginning of religious forbearance. This event was on Sept. 25th, 1555. 2nd:The German Peasants War. The purpose was for Martin Luther to find a way to intrigue Christianity. this lasted from 1524-1525. Third event was the act of supremacy which was two acts that were passed in the 16th century established English Monarchs as heads of the Church of England. The event happened in 1534.

    Late renaissance

    The late renaissance was focused on artworks and the primary object was the human body. Some artworks that were made that are known well was Michelangelo's statue David, Venus and cupid painting, Madonna with the long neck by Parmigianino, The Mona Lisa made by Leonardo Da Vinci, and Raphael's famous painting called School Of Athens. The late renaissance began in 1520 and was spread around until 1530. At the end when the Baroque style was released and became more popular, it replaced it largely.

    Scientific Revolution

    The scientific Revolution was an event that noticed the exposure of modern science. The developments because of the finding of scientific revolution was astronomy, physics, biology, mathematics, and chemistry. These subjects forever changed the view to society of nature. We were introduced to this in 1543. Some fantastic creations and discovers during this time were the human lymphatic system, mathematics of statistics and probability, creating a telescope and then finding about Saturn's rings.
