First Great Humanist
Petrarch was an Italian scholar and poet in Renaissance Italy. He is known for discovering and translating Greek and Roman. Petrarch was a Christian and believed that people could be religious and still be a humanist. -

The Black Plague
The disease is estimated to have killed 75-200 million people in Europe and it was very infectious. The disease had puss and blood oozing from black sores in peoples arm pits or groins, there was lots of internal bleeding and the smell of a persons breath and excrements was horrid. The plague created social, economic and religious upheavals that had effects on European history. -
