a war broke out between england and france. it lasted more than a century and came to be called the hundred years war. the endless fighting devastated the countryside. peasants in both countries revolted because of the high rents and taxes they had to pay to finance the war

black death

a ship sailed in to a busy harbor. the sailors that were on the ship had a disease. soon people in the city had the disease one- half of Europe die because of the disease

the treaty of tordesillas

at the beginning of the age of exploration, Spain and Portugal went to find trade routs to Asia. after Columbus had discover what he thought was a trade rout to Asia, Portugal wanted to make sure that it got its share of Asian trade. the rulers of Spain and Portugal could not come to an agreement, so they asked the pope to settle the matter. the pope proposed a secret treaty, the treaty was called the treaty of tordesillas
