  • Bowlby´s Pre Attachment Phase

    When I was born I had skin-to-skin contact with my mother when she held me. This demonstrates Bowbly´s pre-attachment phase because this is the initial contact that I have with my mother that causes me to rely on her to tend to me.

    Freud´s Oral Stage

    As a baby my mother breast fed me. This demonstrates the oral stage because I was using my oral senses to get milk from my mom in order to meet my needs of eating.
  • Piaget´s Sensorimotor Stage

    When my dad played peek-a-boo with me and when he covered his face I thought he was gone, but when he showed his face again I was surprised. This shows Piaget´s sensorimotor stage of object permanence because at this point my knowledge is only what I see that exists so I believed that he was actually gone due to me not being able to see his face.
  • Vygotsky: Levels 1 & 2 of Development

    I was crawling around and trying to learn to walk and to help me do so my father would hold my hand to guide me in taking steps. This demonstrates both of Vygotsky´s levels because I managed to crawl around by myself which was the level I was currently. Although, I needed help from my father in order to walk, which was my potential level to walk on my own.
  • Ainsworth´s Secure Attachment Stage

    My dad put me in an unfamiliar faces lap which was his cousin but I had never seen them before, which caused me to cry and reach for him. Then once he came and picked me up I stopped crying. This shows a secure attachment due to me being content before facing the stranger, but I got cried when I was away from my father and near the stranger. Although I became happy and calmed down when my father came back to me.

    Freud´s Anal Phase

    I was being potty trained and was using my own training potty and eventually learned to use the bathroom on my own. This shows the anal phase because I managed to recognize my own bowel and bladder movements to make it to the bathroom in order to become potty trained successfully.
  • Bowlby´s Secure Attachment Phase

    When my mother sat me down at the big family gathering and left to go to the bathroom resulted in me crying but I stopped when she came. This is an example of secure attachment because I showed that I was fine before she left me, but I got upset when she left and I eventually was happy again once she returned.
  • Vygotsky´s levels 1 & 2 of Development

    I managed to be in the kiddie pool by myself, but I needed my parents and a floatie in order to be in the pool. This shows levels 1 and 2 of Vygotsky's theory because my current level was being in the kiddie pool on my own and my potential level was being in the pool due to me needing assistance from my parents.

    Piaget´s Preoperational Stage

    I would like to play house by pretending toy food was real food, baby dolls were real babies, and the swing set was our house. This demonstrates the preoperational stage because I was using the objects such as toys as real life objects, so this shows symbolic play.
  • Bandura´s Theory

    I saw my mother burping my brother by patting him on the back and then I went and took my baby doll and burped it. This is an example of Bandura´s theory due to me copying my mothers actions after I saw her burping my brother.
  • Bowlby´s Safe Haven Stage

    At Santa's Village when I had to sit on Santa's lap to take a picture and then I cried and reached for my dad and stopped crying when I was in his arms. This shows Bowlby's attachment theory of safe haven because when I was scared of Santa I relied on my father to protect and comfort me.
  • Bandura´s Theory

    I witnessed my mom putting on makeup so, therefore, I took my little make up kit and put on makeup as well. This shows Bandura´s theory because seeing my mom put on makeup caused me to react by doing the same thing as her.
  • Erickson´s Obedience & Punishment Stage

    When I was drawing on my whiteboard with markers, but decided to color my dog instead. I then got in trouble and had to go sit in time out. This is an example of obedience and punishment because I did not follow the rules of drawing on the board only and therefore received a punishment of getting sent to time out.
  • Bowbly´s Secure Base Stage

    I Attended my first dance class and was a bit nervous at first but eventually went and joined the rest of the group knowing my mom was still nearby. This represents Bowlby´s theory of secure base due to me going off to be with the other kids but being aware that my mother is right over on the side where I can go to her if I felt nervous again.

    Piaget´s Concrete Operational Stage

    In school, I would learn to do a math worksheet known as rocket math which consisted of multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction problems. This is an example of the concrete operational stage because I applied my learning of math concepts to solve these problems.
  • Kohlberg´s Interpersonal Relationships Stage

    At this time I bought fidget spinners because they were popular and everyone had them. This demonstrates the stage of interpersonal relationships because I was trying to fit into society and get fidget spinners so I could be like others.

    Piaget´s Formal Operational Stage

    We received planners from the school and I made use of this planner by listing all events that I had. This demonstrates the formal operational stage because at this point in my life I have more logic and I was able to use my knowledge to plan ahead to organize my life´s priorities.
  • Kohlberg´s Maintaining Social Order Stage

    At college my boyfriend gets into a fit about another guy but I step in and tell them to stop because that is not the right thing to do. I was showing authority and maintaining social order because I believed in following the rules so my boyfriend didn't get in trouble or hurt which is why I tried to get them to stop.
  • Erickson´s Intimacy vs. Isolation Stage

    I will get married to my boyfriend of 4 years. This demonstrates intimacy vs. isolation because at this point in my life, I am focusing on finding love and ending up in a happy relationship. So, therefore, being in a long-term relationship will make me happy.

    Freud´s Genital Phase

    I become pregnant and have children with my husband. This is an example of the genital phase because I was exploring the sexual aspects of life to create babies of my own.
  • Parenting Styles - Permissive

    My toddler was crying because he wanted to be held and therefore I picked him up so he would stop. This is an example of the permissive style due to me not enforcing him to stand and I gave in to what my toddler wanted.
  • Parenting Styles - Authoritative

    I allowed my kids to have dessert but that was only if they ate their vegetables during dinner. This is an example of the authoritative style because I kept a positive relationship by giving them dessert while still having the rule of eating their vegetables in order to achieve their privilege of dessert.

    Erickson´s Generativity vs. Stagnation Stage

    I became a middle school soccer coach since my kids play soccer so I found it fitting to step in and coach. This shows the stage of generativity vs stagnation because I am showing my efforts toward society by taking the opportunity to teach the generation about the game of soccer.
  • Parenting Styles - Authoritative

    My teenage daughter wants to go out with her friends and I allow her to, although I told her she needs to be home by 10 pm. This demonstrates the authoritative style because I was maintaining a good relationship by giving her some freedom while still implying the rules of being home at a certain time.
  • Erickson´s Integrity vs. Despair

    I will happily retire and go out with my friends for lunch to discuss life. This shows the stage of integrity vs. despair because I am satisfied with what I´ve done and therefore feel comfortable with retiring and enjoying my free time.
