    Chapter 4: Synchrony

Synchrony: Coordinated, rapid, and smooth exchange of responses between caregiver and an infant. Me and my mother had great synchrony when I was a baby. We were able to communicate well and my mom was always able to tell when I was upset, in pain, or needed something. I was pretty much suction cupped to my mom at all times and we always had phenomenal synchrony, easily being able to communicate with one another.

    Chapter 3: Gross Motor Skills

Gross Motor Skills: Skills that require full body movement and involve large muscles of the body All of my gross motor skills developed well at a very young age. I started crawling and walking very well at a very young age. I was also exceptionally good at throwing balls when I was very young. My parents have even told me that they did not like playing catch with me because I would throw the ball at them extremely hard.

Chapter 5: Piaget Stages of Peoperational Thought (Sensorimotor Stage)

Piaget Stages of Preoperational Thought-Sensorimotor Stage: When the child loves to explore and learn things on their own. During this age, I loved exploring the world around me and wanted to learn anything and everything about it. I would often explore my backyard, finding all sorts of bugs and animals to inspect. I always wanted my mom to read books about animals to me and I was extremely curious about everything around me. It is honestly a miracle I never picked up anything dangerous.

    Chapter 6: Parenting Styles (Authoritative)

Authoritative Parenting Style: Parents are warmly concerned and confrontative, and tend to have children with the highest self-esteem, self-reliance, and social competence My mom definitely has an authoritative parenting style. My mother has always wanted what's best for me and was definitely strict when I was younger but has loosened up appropriately as I have gotten older. She trusts me and talks to me about whatever rules she may have for me. She is not overly strict, but she has rules.

Chapter 7: Importance of Diet and Excercise

Importance of Diet and Exercise: benefits of diet and exercise in this stage can last a lifetime; can lead to advances in physical, emotional, and mental health. Growing up I was actually not very interested in sports. However, my parents had a rule that I had to play one sport. I chose soccer (because I did not really know or care about sports). Although at the time I did not enjoy it, my parents making me exercise and my mom taking my diet seriously has definitely improved my current health.

    Chapter 8: Family Structure

Family Structure: Legal and genetic relationships among relatives living in the same home. During this time, I had a nuclear family, which is a married couple living in a house with only their biological children. My parents have been married as long as I have been alive and during middle-childhood, the only other person living in my house was my biological sister Melody. This is how my family structure was for the entirety of my middle childhood.

Chapter 10: Four Areas of Identity Formation

Four Areas of Identity Formation: The four areas of identity formation are religious identity, political identity, vocational identity, and gender identity. My religious identity is Christian, as I believe Jesus Christ is my savior and that God created the world. My political identity is independent, although I am more conservative leaning, I do not like to identify fully with either party. My vocational identity is as a student as I have no other job. My gender identity is as straight male.

    Chapter 9: Growth Spurts

Growth Spurt: A relatively sudden and rapid physical growth that occurs during puberty I first hit puberty when I was in 6th grade. Right after puberty started for me, I hit a huge growth spurt. I had always been tall, but in 6th grade I grew 6 inches in 6 months and was nearly 6 feet tall. I continued to grow throughout the rest of adolescence up until the end of my junior year, but much slower, typically about an inch a year.
