Period: to
Shy to all males
I had an issue w/ the male gender. It took me a year to speak two words to my step dad Marvin. My mother was at work one day & Marvin was babysitting my siblings & I.Pacing back in forth in my room I'm going over in my head how I'm going to approach this huge dude.I finally talked myself into walking up to Marvin & saying, "I'm Hungry." He was shocked, but pleased that we were a step closer to being a family.Oh yeah,he did make me a delicious grilled cheese sandwich w/ creamy tomato soup. -
Period: to
Shy to all males
Now five starting kindergarten, I had a male teacher and I didn't speak to him because males frightened me.There was an aid teacher who would come in and she was female and I had no issue with her, I did all my work with her and graduated kinder garden without saying a word to my teacher.I believe I was this way when I was young because I was so short and so little, and males are built so they were so much bigger than me, and that frightened me.I was one timid kid. -
High School Cheerleader
As a child, I always stayed to myself and was very shy.I didn't like the was I looked, and was always pretty heavy as a kid, with that lovely teen acne all over my face. When I got into high school I found an interest in cheerleading. Cheerleading really got me out of my shell, so to speak. I believe because of cheerleading I am a more fun and a more lively individual. I am very blessed and appreciative of this experience. -
Meeting Eddie
One day on my break at Raising Cane's I saw Eddie eating alone, so I walked over and joined him.We clicked so easily, our conversations felt so natural and his vibe felt so genuine.I was so lost into his big brown eyes that I almost forgot I had to go back to work. But Eddie and I exchanged numbers and actually hung out that evening.Every day from that day on we was inseparable and still are.Eddie has taught me that no matter how harsh the world is, love conquers anything. -
When Eddie Moved In
Eddie and I had only been dating 3 months when Marvin told me Eddie was moving in because his roommates tried to stab him.I quickly turned to Eddie and he assured me he was okay. But, he talked to my dad because he had no family in Arizona,no one to turn to.So my dad let him move in, which really took me by surprise I never in my life thought he would ever do such a thing.Of course, there were rules & boundaries that were not to be crossed. -
Mexico Escape
Without noticed Eddie and I left my parent's house to live with his mother in Mexico and let me tell you the best thing about Mexico was the tacos. Two months down the road I asked my mother to send my birth certificate via facebook to a certain address and she played me.My mom called the cops, saying Eddie kidnapped me.Good thing the address I sent her wasn't the address I was really staying at but it caused drama between his parents. So my only option then was to go back home. -
Utah in the Winter
Eddie and I ended up living in Utah with his brother after countless times of moving place to place. When we arrived in Salt Lake City it was snowing. It was the first time I had ever seen snow, it was so magical. Now, of course, the first thing I do is fall on my behind and everyone laughs. Haha, I laughed too.Our first step was to find a job.We walked through many blizzards trying to find jobs to make it out in Utah, but after months of no luck, we had to move back to my parents. -
First Born Child
Leilani weighed 7lbs 1oz, born at 10:59 pm.My world stopped when the doctor put her in my arms, she was the most beautiful little human I ever laid eyes on.She made my little family complete.I felt so blessed to care and nurture this beautiful little angel.I promised her I would love her, take care of her, and always be there for her whenever she needed anything.Being a new mother had its challenges but it's the best job in the world! -
First Apartment
When I received the keys to my very first apartment, I was overjoyed! I had worked everyday saving every penny I could. After working my butt off for several months we found a one bedroom apartment we could afford.Eddie and I felt so accomplished, we were really stepping into adulthood. The first thing we did was take a picture together in front of our new apartment, it was the beginning of a new chapter in our life. I learned the value of hard work by working hard, -
Meeting of biological father
My biological dad left when I was 1 years old he never came to visit and rarely called when my siblings and I were young. It was hard to make up my own decision about him because my mom talked bad about him whenever the subject was brought up.One day I found him via facebook and started messaging him.We planned to meet on Leilani's first birthday.I was nervous, I wanted him to like me, to want to stay in my life.Meeting my dad was an amazing experience and he continues to be in my life. -
Birth of my Second Child
Finding out I was pregnant for the second time, I cried my eyes out, I was shocked and so scared. I felt my life was moving too quickly, & I had no way of grabbing a hold of it.The moment Adalynn was born all my worries flew away.I knew things would be difficult, but I also knew I would do anything to make sure my daughters were protected, had a full belly, clothes on their back, a warm bed to sleep in, and most of all I wanted to make sure my daughters felt loved & happy always.
