Rossevelts proposal to extend the term of draftees passed in House of Representatives by only one vote. He began planning for the war he was certain would come. Roosevelt and Churchill draw up Atlantic Charter. We worked togehter to decide what we wanted out the war. Collective securty, disarmament, self-determination, economic coopertion, and freedom of the seas. -
Shoot on Sight Policy
A German submarine fired on the U.S. destroyer Greer. Roosevelt ordered the navy to shoot any German submarines on sight. -
Attack on Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor! (U.S. declares war) In Hawaii. Over 2,000 peole died. Over 1,000 injured. It was surprise attack, and lasted an 1 hr and a half. Attacked us because we cut of their oil (oil embargo), eastern dominance. Dec 7, 941 (a date to live in infamy) Roosevelt, and we declare war.
