  • FORTRAN

    Made by John Backus and IBM.Was the first high-level computer language and the first to use a compiler. Made programmers able to write code %500 faster than before. Known as a scientific language. FORTRAN stands for (FORmula TRANslation).
  • MATH-MATIC

    MATH-MATIC is the name for the AT-3 compiler which, was an early programming language for the UNIVAC 1 and UNIVAC 2. Was developed under Grace Hopper and by a team led by Charles Katz.
  • Lisp

    Designed by John McCarthy. Originally made as a practical mathematical notation for computer programs. The name comes from "LISt Processor".
  • COBOL

    Designed by Howard Bromberg, Norman Discount, Vermon Reeves, Jean E. Sammet, William Selden, and Gertrude Tiemey. Stands for (Common Business-Oriented Language) and was designed for business use, like the name implies.
  • RPG

    RPG stands for (Report Program Generator) and was developed for use in business. RPG was developed by IBM.
  • BASIC

    Was made so that people could use computers without writing custom code Made by John G. Kemeny and Thomas E. Kurtz. Name stands for (Beginners' All-Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code).
  • LOGO

    LOGO is a general-purpose language known for its use of turtle graphics. Designed by Wally Feurzeig, Seymour Papert, Cynthia Solomon. Name is not an acronym but, comes from the Greek word "logos", meaning thought.

    B was designed for non-numeric, machine-independent applications, like systems and language software. Made by Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie. B's name came as a shortened version of BCPL.

    Pascal is named after Blaise Pascal, a mathematician, philosopher, and physicist. Pascal was designed by Niklaus Wirth with the intentions to promote structured programming and data structuring.

    ML stand for (Meta Language). ML is a general-purpose programming language. Designed by Robin Milner.

    SQL was made by Raymond Boyce and Donald Chamberlin, researchers at IBM. SQL is an acronym for (Structured Query Language). This language was designed for stream processing or managing data held in a relational database management system.

    Designed for embedded and real-time systems. Made by Jean Ichbiah and S. Tucker Taft. Named after Ada Lovelace.

    Is an extention of "C" language. General purpose programming language. Made by Bjarne Stroustrup.

    Python is an interpreted, high-level, general purpose language. Python was made by Guido van Rossum. This language can be used for small or large projects.
  • Visual Basic

    Visual Basic was made to be easy to learn and use. This language was based off of BASIC and made by Microsoft.
  • Delphi

    Made by Anders Hejlsberg. Meant for rapid application development of desktop, mobile, web, and console software.
  • Java

    General-purpose language that is class-based. Developed by James Gosling. One of the most popular languages today.
  • Javascript

    One of the core technologies of the world wide web. Designed by Bredan Eich.
  • PHP

    PHP stands for (PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor). PHP is equipped to handle web development. Developed by Zend Technologies.
