  • Fortran

    The name comes from formula tranlating system and was developed by Richard Goldberg, Sheldon F. Best, Harlan Herrick, Peter Sheridan and the head programmer, John W. Backus. It is used for general purpose computing and calcultions.
  • MATH-MATIC

    This language was originally supposd to be an improvement to fortran but has developed a lot science then. Developed by Charles Katz it was originally used for the UNIVAC I and II
  • Lisp

    A high level programming language fom 1958, Lisp was developed by John Mcarthy while at MIT. It is Lisp for List Processing.
  • COBOL

    This language was designed for use in the buisness industry. Grace Hopper is considered the mother of COBOL because of all the work she did with it and the ideas that she used for it. It stands for COmmon Bisuness Oriented Language.
  • BASIC

    Beginner’s All-Purpose Symbolic Instruction Code is what BASIC stands for. It was developed by two mathematicians named John G. Kemeny and Thomas E. Kurtz. It was designed to be exactally whats its called... Basic. They wanted everybody to be able to use it and be easy to learn.

    This language is used to tech concepts of Lisp and also to create cool repetative graphics such as this one. Created by Daniel G. Bobrow, Wally Feurzeig, Seymour Papert and Cynthia Solomon LOGO is derived from the greek word logos or thought.

    Developed by Dennis Ritchie. One of the most used languages in the world nd is for basic programming and mechanized instruction.

    D. M. Ritchie and K. L. Thompson designed B for system programming and complex logical decision making.
  • PASCAL

    Named after french mathematician Blaise Pascal. This computing language made by Niklaus Wirth is more structure oriented programming.
  • SQL

    Named Standard Query Language this prgram was made by IBM and used for trelational databases.
  • ML

    Standing for Meta language this language was developed by R. Milner for proofing at the Edimburg University.
  • C++

    C++ was a result of a P.H.D. student by the name of Bjarne Stroustrup wanting to add object oriented programming to the computer language C.
  • ADA

    This language was developed by a team of scientists led by Dr. Jean Ichbiah. This language was later revised and enhanced by Mr. Tucker Taft. ADA does not stand for anything but was named to honor Augusta Ada Lovelace, one of the worlds first programmers. This language was designed for longer object oriented programs.
  • Java

    James Gosling, Mike Sheridan, and Patrick Naughton designed this object oriented language to have multimedia purposes.
  • Python

    Made by Guido Van Rossum and titled Python after Monty Python's Flying Circus this language is used mainly to create games and other interactive platforms.
  • Visual Basic

    This language was erived from Microsofts BASIC and is used for rapid apliction development.
  • Delphi

    Delphi is a rapid application development tool for Window that was designedby a company named Borland. it is simiplar to Pascal and also shares many traits with c++.
  • JavaScript

    Most commonly used for browser based endevors, javasript is a dynamic computer programming language. Made by Brendan Eich this language uses syntax much like c and c++.
  • PHP

    Standng for Personal Home Pages Hypertext Processor this language was dveloped by Rasmus Lerdorf for emmbedment in HTML programs.
  • RPG

    Coined Report Program Generator this program was made for IBM by IBM for their computers.
