It was the first attempt at a telephone, but it didn't have a large range. It was created by Robert Hooke when experimenting on sound transmition. Liquid Transmitter
The liquid transmitter was the first form of long distance communication using speech. Alexander Grahm Bell created to allow people to have clear conversations. Candle Stick Telephone
The third important part of the evolution of the telephone was the candlestick telephone. I had a microphone you coulld speak into at the top of the base. It also had cone like object which you put up against your ear to hear what the other person is saying. Desktop Rotary Dial Phone
It was invented by Wetsern Electric. This new telephone was more comfortable to use because it only required the use of one hand. The actual phone had the speaker at the top and the microphone in one hand allowing us to speak and listen at the same time. Touch-Tone Telephone
The touch tone telephone wa created by bell labs. It wasn't much different from the previous model, but it was much easier to dial a number. Instead of spinning the dial you push buttons instead. Cordless telephone

Cellular Telephone
The cellular telephone was invented by Martin Cooper. This was the first telephone that didn't require a reciever. This allowed portability. It was connected wirelessly to cell towers that allow you to connect to other phones across the world. Smart Phone
The smartphone was the most recent major innovation. The first of it's kind was made by IBM. It is a cellular telephone that has more capabilities than just calling. The first one had a calendar,could send and recieve e-mails,address book,calculator, and a clock.
