PFLP 4 Hijackings - Jewish Passengers Held Hostage
Members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) hijacked four airliners bound for New York City and one for London. Three aircraft were forced to land at Dawson's Field, a remote airstrip in Jordan.
While the majority of the 310 hostages were transferred to Amman and freed, the PFLP segregated the flight crews and Jewish passengers, keeping the 56 Jewish hostages in custody, while releasing the non-Jews.

School Bus Bombing - 12 Dead/25 Injured
Early in the morning, the bus departed from Avivim heading with its passengers to two local schools. This route had been scouted by the terrorists. As the bus passed by, it was attacked by heavy gunfire from both sides of the road. The driver was hit in the initial barrage, as were the two other adults on board. The three were killed as the bus crashed into an embankment as the attackers continued firing into the vehicle.

Lod Airport Massacre - 26 Dead/80 Injured
The Lod Airport massacre was a terrorist attack that occurred on May 30, 1972, in which three members of the Japanese Red Army recruited by the Palestinian group PFLP attacked Lod Airport (now Ben Gurion International Airport), killing 26 people and injuring 80 others. Because airport security was focused on the possibility of a Palestinian attack, the use of Japanese attackers took the guards by surprise.

Kiryat Shmona Massacre - 18 Dead/16 Injured
On 11 April 1974, three members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine crossed the Israeli border from Lebanon. First, they entered the Janusz Korczak middle school, but it was the Passover holiday and the school was unoccupied. They then decided to enter another building nearby. They killed many of that building's residents. The attackers then blew themselves up as Israeli soldiers stormed the building.

Ma'alot Massacre - 29 Dead/68 Injured
The Ma'alot massacre was a Palestinian terrorist attack that involved a two-day hostage-taking of 115 Israeli people which ended in the murders of over 25 hostages. It began when three armed members of DFLP entered Israel from Lebanon. They attacked a van, killing two Israeli Arab women and entered an apartment building, where they killed a couple and their four-year-old son. Then they headed for an elementary school, taking 105 children hostage.

Jerusalem Street Bombing - 15 Dead/77 Injured
A refrigerator that had 11 pounds of explosives packed into its sides exploded on Zion Square, Jerusalem. Fifteen people were killed and 77 injured in the attack. Ahmad Jabara, who was responsible for placing the bomb, was arrested and sentenced to life and thirty years in prison, but was released by Israel in 2003 after serving 27 years as a gesture to Arafat, who then appointed him his adviser on prisoners affairs

Entebbe Rescue - IDF Recuses Hostages in Uganda
Operation Entebbe/Thunderbolt was a successful hostage-rescue mission carried out by the Israel Defense Forces at Entebbe Airport in Uganda.
A week earlier, an Air France airliner with 248 passengers was hijacked by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Israeli transport planes carried 100 commandos 2,500 miles to Uganda. The operation, which took a week of planning, lasted 90 minutes. Of the 106 remaining hostages, 102 were rescued.

Coastal Road Massacre - 38 Dead/71 Injured
The Coastal Road massacre was a hijacking of a bus in which 38 Israelis, including 13 children were killed and 71 wounded. The plan was to seize a luxury hotel in Tel Aviv and take tourists and foreign ambassadors hostage in order to exchange them for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
The timing was aimed at scuppering the Israeli-Egyptian peace talks and damaging tourism in Israel.

False charges of Israeli atrocities and instigation from mosques played a a big role in starting the intifada. In December 1987 an Israeli was stabbed to death in Gaza. The next day residents of a refugee camp died in a traffic accident. Rumors spread they had been killed by Israelis. Mass rioting broke out, in which a Palestinian was killed after throwing a Molotov cocktail. This sparked a wave of unrest in the West Bank, Gaza and Jerusalem.

First Bus Suicide Attack - 16 Dead/27 Injured
This was a suicide attack carried out by Abd al-Hadi Ghanim. On a crowded Egged commuter bus en route from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, Ghanim seized the steering wheel of the bus, running it off a steep cliff into a ravine in the area of Qiryat Ye'arim. 16 civilians died in the attack—including two Canadians and one American.
The incident is the first Palestinian suicide attack despite the fact that the attacker survived.

Dizengoff (Tel Aviv) Bus Bombing - 22 Dead/50 Injured
The Dizengoff Street bus bombing was a Hamas suicide attack on a passenger bus driving down Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv in 1994. At that time, it was the deadliest suicide bombing in Israeli history, and the first successful attack in Tel Aviv. Twenty-two civilians were killed and 50 were injured. The attack was planned by Hamas chief Yahya Ayyash, on the eve of the signing of the Israel-Jordan Treaty of Peace.

The Jaffa Road bus bombings were terrorist attacks on buses in Jerusalem. Hamas suicide bombers killed 45 people in the attacks, which were masterminded by Mohammed Deif. These two bombings, within a few days of each other, occurred during a Hamas offensive launched, which also included the French Hill neighborhood attack, a suicide bombing in Ashkelon, and a terrorist attack near Dizengoff Center in Tel Aviv.

The 1997 Mahane Yehuda Market bombings were two consecutive suicide bombings carried out by Hamas militants on 30 July 1997 at the Mahane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem, Israel, the city's main open-air fruit and vegetable market. Sixteen people were killed in the attack and 178 were injured.

Fifteen people were killed when a suicide bomber detonated the bomb he was wearing after boarding a crowded bus. About 40 people were wounded in the attack, several of them seriously.
The bombing occurred when an Egged bus was blown apart while passing through the mixed Jewish-Arab Halissa district.

Park Hotel (During Passover) Bomb - 30 Dead/140 Injured
Thirty people were killed and 140 injured - 20 seriously - in a suicide bombing in the Park Hotel, during the Passover holiday seder with 250 guests.

The Matza restaurant suicide bombing occurred on March 31, 2002, when a Palestinian Hamas suicide bomber detonated his bomb inside the Matza restaurant in Haifa, Israel, near the Grand Canyon shopping mall, killing 16 Israeli civilians and injuring over 40 people. Journalist Giulio Meotti described the attack as a massacre.

Fourteen people were killed and some 50 wounded when a car bomb containing about 100 kilograms of explosives was detonated next to a No. 841 Egged bus from Kiryat Shmona to Tel-Aviv. Haifa Bus Bomb - 17 Dead/53 Injured
Seventeen people were killed and 53 wounded in a suicide bombing of an Egged bus No. 37 in Haifa. The blast turned the bus into a charred wreck and scattered bodies along the road. The bus driver, a Christian Arab, was moderately injured.
Police said the bomb was laden with metal shrapnel in order to maximize the number of injuries and strapped to the bomber's body.

Seventeen people were killed and over 100 wounded in a suicide bombing on an Egged bus #14A in Jerusalem.
The bomber, dressed as an ultra-Orthodox Jew, boarded the bus and detonated his bomb, wrecking the bus and killing 16 of its passengers. Over 100 people were wounded, including dozens of passersby. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

Twenty-three people were killed and over 130 wounded when a Palestinian suicide bomber detonated a five-kilogram device packed with ball-bearings on a crowded No. 2 Egged bus in Jerusalem's Shmuel Hanavi neighborhood. Beersheva Bus Bombs - 16 Dead/100+ Injured
Two explosions took place within minutes of each other on two Beersheba city buses. 16 people were killed and 100 wounded.
Israel Radio reported that one bus was in flames, while windows were blown out of the second vehicle. Both buses had just left the city's central bus station. Most of the passengers on the second bus, no. 12, fled the bus before the bomb exploded on hearing the first explosion.

The Mercaz HaRav massacre, also called the Mercaz HaRav shooting, was a mass shooting attack that occurred on 6 March 2008, in which a lone Palestinian gunman shot multiple students at the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva, a religious school in Jerusalem, Israel, after which the gunman himself was shot dead. Jerusalem Synagogue Attack - 5 Dead/7 Injured
On the morning of 18 November 2014, two Palestinian men from Jerusalem entered Kehilat Bnei Torah synagogue, in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem, and attacked the praying congregants with axes, knives, and a gun. They killed four worshippers, and critically wounded a responding Druze Israeli police officer, who later died of his wounds. They also injured seven male worshippers. The two attackers were then shot dead by the police.
