    Prohibited British troops from staying in private residencies.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The proclamation reserved the right of westward expansion for the Native Americans. Colonists disobeyed and moved west anyway.
  • The Currency Act

    The Currency Act
    This act was passed along with the sugar act and it prohibited the issuance and print of paper money
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    This was amended act of the Molasses Act and it basically was to tax things such as sugar, and molasses and it banned certain imported goods.
  • Stamp Act

    The act that begins to tax the colonists for all documents. This act resulted in a decline in trade in wealth in Great Britain because this act showed it did more harm than good.
  • Declaratory Acts

    Declaratory Acts
    The act that repeals the Stamp Act. With repealing the act, of course, it was stated they had the ability to tax the colonies just like they do in Britain.
  • Townshend Acts

    Townshend Acts
    Taxes on things such as glass, lead, paint, and paper. This resulted in colonists' boycotting goods imported from Great Britain.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    A group of colonists began throwing snowballs at British forces, British forces stoot into the crowd killing 3 colonists.
  • Intolerable Acts

    Intolerable Acts
    In response to the Boston tea party. A series of taxes and restrictions to prevent boycotting and smuggling. Boston Harbor shut down.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    After the tea act was passed, colonists, specifically the Sons of Liberty, board the boat transferring tea from the East India Company and dump the tea into the Boston Harbor. This led to Great Britain becoming angry and caused the Intolerable Acts.
