    the embryo is developing and froming things like the face and neck, the heart and vessels are continuing to develop and the lungs and stomach will start to develop. If you take a pregnancy test it will show up positive now.

    The fetus is about 2 inches and starts to make its own movements, now you might be able to hear the heartbeat with special instruments. At the end of 12 weeks the first trimester is over.

    The fetus is now 4.3-4.6 inches in length and about 3.5 ounces, the fetus can now blink and the heart and blood vessles are completely formed. The fetus now have fingerprints.

    The second trimester lasts from week 13 to the end of week 26.

    At 20 weeks your uterus should be at about your belly button, the fetus can suck its thumb, yawn, and make faces, the fetus will start to move. Usually at 20 weeks you will get your first ultrasound and be able to tell if it is a boy or girl.

    The fetus is now 1.4 pounds and responds to light or sound by moving and quickening their pulse, the inner ear is now fully developed and the fetus might be able to tell when it is upside down in the womb.

    The fetus is around 18.5 inches and 6 pounds, the brain has been developing rapidly and the lungs are almost completely developed. The fetus is positioned down close to the pelvis.

    Your due date marks the end of the 40th week, the due date is calculated using the first day of your last period. Pregnancy can last anywhere from 38-42 weeks.
