  • Month 1

    Month 1
    The baby officially developed in an embryo the size of poppyseed. Over the next few weeks the babys nervous system and organs begin to develop.
  • Month 3

    Month 3
    Baby is 2-1/2 to 3 inches long.
    Weight is about 1/2 to 1 ounce.
    Nails start to develop and earlobes are formed.
    Arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet and toes are fully formed.
    Eyes are almost fully developed.
    Baby has developed most organs and tissues.
  • Month 4

    Month 4
    The size of fetus is 5-6 in and weighs up to 4 ounces. The heart and face are fully developed.
  • Month Two

    Month Two
    The baby is the size of a blueberry and weighs about an ounce or less. The hands and feet begin to form, along with a heartbeat.
  • Month 5

    Month 5
    The uterus is the size of a cantaloupe. Also belly button forms, fingers and toes are well developed.
  • Month 7

    Month 7
    The size of baby is 12in. weighs between 2-4 lbs. fat is developed and sight,hearing and taste.
  • Month 6

    Month 6
    By the time month six rolls around, its about 12 inches and two pounds. The skin turns a reddish color, fingerprints are available and veins are visible.
  • Month 8

    Month 8
    Baby is 16-1/2 to 18 inches long.
    Weight is about 4 to 6 pounds.
    Overall growth is rapid this month.
    Tremendous brain growth occurs at this time.
    Most body organs are now developed, except for the lungs.
    Movements or “kicks” are strong enough to be visible from the outside.
    Kidneys are mature.
    Skin is less wrinkled.
    Fingernails now extend beyond fingertips.
  • Month 9

    Month 9
    Baby is 19 to 20 inches long.
    Weight is about 7 to 7-1/2 pounds.
    The lungs are mature.
    Baby is now fully developed and can survive outside the mother’s body.
    Skin is pink and smooth.
    The baby settles down lower in the abdomen to prepare for birth and may seem less active.
