Pregnancy Timeline

  • Month Number 1

    Month Number 1
    Size: size of a pin head .
    Heart: heart begins to beat.
    Circulatory system and organs began to form.
    Egg attaches to lining of uterus.
    Brain and spine development; critical stage.
  • Month Number 2

    Month Number 2
    Size: About 1/4 inch.
    The face, eyes, ears, and limbs take shape.
    Bones begin to form.
  • Month Number 3

    Month Number 3
    The baby is about 1 inch. The mouth, eyelids, lips and nostrils form. Buds for the 20 baby teeth start to show. The fingers and toes are almost done taking shape. Organs are there but still not fully functional,
  • Month Number 4

    Month Number 4
    The baby is now 3 inches long. Weighs 1 ounce. The baby can such its own thumb, swallow, hiccup, and move around. Facial features become much clearer.
  • Month Number 5

    Month Number 5
    The baby is 6 1/2- 7 inches long and weighs about 4-5 ounces. The hair on the face begins to appear. Hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. Teeth start to come in and the organs are becoming more functional. The baby begins to move around much more.
  • Month Number 6

    Month Number 6
    The baby is now 8-10 inches long and weighs about 8-12 ounces. The fat stores under the skin and the baby's wrinkles appear. The baby breathing shows movements.
  • Month Number 7

    Month Number 7
    The size of the baby is 10-12 inches long and weighs approximately 1 1/2-2 lbs. The baby has periods where he/she is resting and really active.
  • Month Number 8

    Month Number 8
    The baby is 14-16 inches long and weighs 2-3 lbs. Weight gain becomes rapid. The baby is now able to react to loud noises with a reflex jerking action. Moves into head down position
  • Month Number 9

    Month Number 9
    The baby is 17-18 inches long, and weighs about 5-6 lbs. Weight gain continues. The skin becomes much more soft, and the fat storing under the skin continues. The baby moves less because it has barely any room. The baby recieves disease fighting antibodies from the mothers blood. The baby moves into pelvis, now ready for birth.
