Month 1
During the first month of pregnancy, the baby is the size of a pinhead. The egg attaches itself to the lining of the uterus. During this time, the rain, spinal cord, internal organs, and circulatory system develop. The heart begins to beat. Mom will miss her menstrual cycle.

Problems #1 & 2
During the first month, a woman may experience vaginal bleeding and period cramps. This could be a sign of a woman going through a miscarriage.It is recommended that you call your doctor to determine what the next steps will be. Another problem would be having a fever of higher than 101 degrees. This could cause problems to the baby because it could cause an infection. Doctor visits are recommended. Month 2
The baby is about 1/4 of an inch long as the month begins. The baby's face, eyes, ears, and limbs begin to take shape, while the bones are forming. Mom, will start to feel fatigue and experience dizziness. This month morning sickness comes into play and mom will start to experience food cravings. Month 3
The baby is about an inch long as month begins. The nostrils, mouth, lips, and eyelids start to form during this month and the buds for all 20 baby teeth appear. Problem #4
Sometimes women can experience Placenta Previa. This is when the placeta covers part of the opening cervex. It isn't always painful. It mostly occurs during the second and third trimester. Month 4
Baby's size is about 3 inches long and weighs 1 ounce as the month begins. It will start to suck its thumb, swallow, hiccup, and move around. The facial features become more clear. Mom is officially in her second trimester! Mom will start to experience itchy skin around her stomach and breasts. She will start to see her stretch marks that are occurring. Picture:

Month 5
Baby is about 6 1/2-7 inches long and weighs about 4-5 ounces. The baby becomes more active this month. The organs are maturing. Mom will start to feel lower back pain and shortness of breath. Problem #3
Some women can develop higher blood pressure during pregnancy. This is called preeclampsia which can affect the baby. Women will want to be checked out immediately and in some cases this can lead to having the baby pre-mature. It is most common to develop during the third trimester. Month 6
Baby is about 8-10 inches long and weighs about 8-0 ounces. Baby will start to react to loud noises and will start to move into a head-down position. Month 7
Baby is about 10-12 inches long and weighs 1 1/2-2 pounds. Baby will have periods of activity and rest. During this month, mom will start to experience Braxton Hicks contraction and hot flashes. Problem #5
Some women go through preterm labor. This is when women go into labor before 37 weeks. This offers the baby many risks, including being admitted to the NICU. In most situations, doctors will try to stop the labor, but if it can't be stopped, the doctors will perform a cesarean section. Month 8

Month 9
Baby is about 17-18 inches and weighs about 5-6 pounds. Movements decrease due to their being the least amount of room. The baby will move down into the pelvis to prepare fro birth. Mom's mucus plug gets expelled and she starts to feel pressure in her pelvis. Mom doesn't feel as many baby movements.
