the people i have immigrated with left poland because in the new world of America they have way more freedoms, we could own our own land and start new jobs. also wars were going on in poland and it wasn't good for us to be there anymore.recently the soil was going bad and there was a loss in crops so we have to go to america to farm more and make a living. -

farming experiences
farming was better in America. we polands farm alot so we immigrated to start fresh and harvest and make jobs for us. the farm lands were going bad bavk in poland. -
new wave of immigrants
when i came to america there wasn't a lot of polish immigrants, but now there was a new wave. Polands tend to stay close so we establish these polish neighborhoods called polonia. -
Americans didn't always except the polish
Americans didn't always except us immigrants. They didn't want us to take their jobs and land. -
new jobs were difficult
us polish people did a lot of farming back in Poland so the new jobs here with factories were very different. farming to other jobs was a big adjucment for all of us -
factory jobs
polish immigrants weren't used to the factory life. Back in Poland our main job was farming so with the new jobs as factory jobs it's very different. since we aren't used to the factory life it affects our health i have no people who have died and gotten very ill from the new change. -
moving west
us polish people needed new jobs and more land in America. as more and more immigrants were arriving in the northeastern united states there was not a lot of jobs left and land to have so we had to move west. One reason we moved west was that the goverment wanted us to explore and build off more in the west. Also the price for land would be cheaper and we could afford it even woth not being rich. There was religious freedoms too. In the west we could build off the land for new jobs. -
immigration act
since so many immigrants were coming in from all over the world they passed a law to restrict that. No illigal aliens were allowed in and a lot of people moved west to spread out. That was my reason there was too many people and i wanted to have a good job and start with new land.
