This document was signed by Philip ii of Spain and Henry ii of France at the beginning of Philip ii’s reign. The paper put an end to the 60 years war between France and Spain. The agreement also placed Spain over Italy given Spanish the dominance in Italy for over half a century. -

Dutch Revolt began

Philip ii gained a massive empire and also the Portuguese strongholds in Africa, India, and the East Indies. Philip ii being king of Portugal made Spain more powerful and expanded his empire around the world. -

King Philip ii sent the Spanish Armada to invade England but was defeated. At the time England was a very small nation, and this achievement gave them power over the sea. To Spain, the defeat was terrible because it weakened the Spanish empire's strength and power. Still, Philip tried what no one will even think as an option and was close to has England become a province of Spain. -
