Peter was born in Moscow. He was the 14th child born into his family. At one point in time both him and his brother Ivan ruled at the same time.

King Phillip's War between the Colonists and Native Americans in America began. This war was also known as Metacom's War. This lasted 14 months and destroyed 12 frontier towns.

Glorious Revolution in America
In the Glorious Revolution, the French and English fought over colonies in America. This was also known as the bloodless overthrow because there was no blood shed. William of Orange had taken over the thrown of James II.

Peter the Great got married
Peter gets married to Eudoxia Lopukhin and has a son named Alexis. He later gets a divorce and remarries 2 more times. He did have 2 sons but they both died before him.

Salem Witch Trials
The Salem Witch Trials was the hearings of younger girls being possessed by the devil and accused of witchcraft. The trials lasted 1 year and 3 months. The hysteria due to these trials spread throughout Massachusetts.

Peter I crowned Czar
Before Peter was crowned sole czar him and his brother Ivan ruled together. Ivan was ill at the time, but he was still known as the "first czar" and Peter was known as the "second czar." Peter the Great is crowned sole czar of Russia after Ivan the Terrible dies.

Peter goes on The Grand Embassy
Peter I goes on the Grand Embassy and gets new ideas to help him make reforms to Russia. Peter disguised himself so he would be treated like a normal person but so many people recognized him due to being czar of Russia. He still indeed did get to take an apprentice shipbuilding class, which he later brought those ideas back to Russia.

The Great Northern War
The Great Northern War was the war between Russia and Sweden. Russia was trying to gain access to the Baltic Sea for better trading. During the battle Peter obtained land that he later named after himself known as St. Petersburg.

Queen Anne's War
Queen Anne's War is also known as the War of Spanish Successions. This war was also the second of the French and Indian Wars. This war came about due to a conflict left unresolved.

Peter finds St.Petersburg
Peter battles Sweden and obtains land from them. He later renames that land after himself. He calls it St.Petersburg and later it becomes the capital of Russia.

Newspaper in Boston
The first regular newspaper in Boston was published. John Campbell, a bookseller and postmaster, published his newspaper weekly. The newspaper was printed onto something known as the half sheet.

Queen Anne's War ends
The Queen Anne's War ends; it ended with a series of treaties. The Treaty of Utrecht was made and this ended the conflict. This treaty caused France to give up the Hudson Territory.

Peter's son is executed
Peter had a son(Alexis or Alexei)with his first wife Euxodia. He had a feeling that his son was plotting against him. When Alexei was brought to court he was tried for treason and sentenced to death.

Great Northern War ends
Russia wins the war over Sweden and gains access to the Baltic. After the end of this war many people saw Russia to be the leading country. The Treaty of Nystad ended the Great Northern War.

Peter made changes in education
Peter realized that to have a successful army, he had to educate them on how to use the artillery correctly. He knew he had to educate them with math and science. He founded the Russian Academy of Science in St.Petersburg.

Peter the Great died
Peter I died in his own city that he created. He died in St.Petersburg and and before his death, he fell with an illness. Peter had a blocked urinary track that made him fall into a coma and die.
