Birth
Born on December 25, 2000 Manama, Bahrain in the American Mission Hospital. I was (thankfully) the last child in the family. Being the youngest child has shaped me in many ways, if I wasn't the youngest my relationship with my older brother (Abdulla) and sister (Noora) would be different. -
September 11 Terrorist Attacks
This is a world event that affected everyone. It changed some people's views on Arabs and caused more stereotypes and racism, therefore it affected me even though I was not even a year old yet. Stereotypical comments directed toward anyone have bothered me since this. -
Started Kindergarten
I've been in Modern Knowledge Schools since Kindergarten (I only left in 3rd grade to go to America, then came back in 4th grade). I made many friendships, but they weren't long-lasting. I wasn't shy, but I felt like I didn't have any close friends. -
When I Met Zain
I met one of my closest and best of friends Zain in first grade. Whenever I need someone to lean on she's there. We became closer in second grade and our friendship still lasts until this day... -
Started reading Harry Potter
The year I went to America (2009-2010), my teacher forced me to read Harry Potter. Like many, Harry Potter is what inspired my love for reading. If I ever meet my teacher again I would thank her!!! -
When I Met Ghadeer
I met another close friend in Fourth Grade. We wrote stories together (and I think I helped her with her passion for writing). Ghadeer is another friend that is always there for me. I don't know what I'd do without her advice and help. -
Juliet (My Pet Cat)
In 6th Grade, my Dad came home with a 6-month-old kitten. We named her Juliet (she has no Romeo, she's an independent cat!). She's now 5 years old :-)! I treat Juliet like a spoiled daughter. She started my cat obsession (obviously). Like my friends, she is always there for me and makes me happy! -
Started Reading The Hunger Games
Zain, Lulwa, and I kept hearing about this series called "The Hunger Games." We saw it at the school book fair and started reading it together. We (and a couple of others) watched the first movie together. I also watched the last movie with Zain! The series made us closer friends. -
When I Met Mooza
Mooza is another of my closest friends. She didn't have the best personality in middle school (she was a witch with a capital B), but that was because of her friends. Thankfully, she became my friend and the amazing Hala changed her life. Mooza is a great advice giver and she's one of the kindest people I know, I'm grateful all of my friends are always there for me. (Waad is in the middle, Mooza is on the Right) -
BTS Debut
BTS released their first Music Video (No More Dream) on this day.I didn't know BTS properly until this year, but this major event would obviously lead me to discovering them. BTS genuinely makes me happy; not only through music, but also through their personalities. Faye and I wish we had discovered them earlier. -
When I Met Nagham
Zain, Nagham, and I became closer since we had Arabic class together in 8th grade, We're still close! Nagham seems calm, but she's insane and always makes me laugh. She's the one who cheers me up when I'm sad or gives me advice when there's something huge. -
Freshman Year
I hated Middle School. So far, I love High School, I started making my best memories during this time and I'm still making more amazing memories with friends. -
Made Lots of New (Amazing) Friends
In 9th Grade I became friends with Ahmed, Faye, MYS, Saba, Waad, Waleed, Wooyoung. Ahmed, MYS, and Waleed and the first and only male friends I have ever had. All of these people are still some of my closest friends, and our group is a bit big, but we all stayed together for so long. All of my friends help me get through life in general, and each and every one helps shape me in some way. -
The beginning of my BTS (and K-pop) Addiction
BTS is my favorite K-pop group. Waad and I planned on playing a video game (overwatch), but it took to long to download a couple of updates, so we ended up watching BTS music videos and watching theories about them. BTS always makes me smile, they try to spread positivity and happiness no matter what. They have a song for every mood, and these songs have meaning...Sometimes I wish I discovered them earlier since they have such a huge impact on my mood!
