  • Social Cognitive Theory

    Social Cognitive Theory
Since I was born, my parents have unintentionally taught me to love Disney. Honestly whether I liked it or not, I was going to have a love for this company and place. I was barely even a year old when I went on my first Disney trip and I continue to go every year. This relates to Albert Bandura's social cognitive theory. In this theory he explains that we make choices bases on how other people do their lives. Since I see basically everyday how much my mom loves Disney, I learned to also love it.
  • Trust v. Mistrust

    Trust v. Mistrust
During the first couple of years, I was really attached to my mom. Wherever she was I wanted to be and I constantly wanted to be in her arms. This relates to Erik Erikson's personality theories. He has a mutiple staged theory, but it mostly relates to stage 1. Stage 1 of his theory specifically states that it is the time where babies tend to always need their mother's attention. This is exactly what I had experienced during this time in my life.
  • Adler and Birth Order

    Adler and Birth Order
Although many people believe that birth order does not affect your child's personality, I believe it does. Being the middle child, I think that I live up to the stereotypes. I am the more outgoing and rebellious child out of my two other siblings. This relates to Alfred Adler's theory. His theory explains that the middle children are independent and very competitive. I agree that I am exactly like this.
  • Stage 3: Phallic Stage

    Stage 3: Phallic Stage
When I was very little, I was definitely more attached to my mom. However, when I grew up, I turned into a "daddy's girl". I now always wanted to do everything he was doing and be interested in the things he was interested in. This relates to stage 3 of Freud's point of view. In this stage, it is explained that you start off with the same sex parent, but then overtime you probably will experience a switch to the opposite.
  • John B Watson

    John B Watson
Ever since I first started school, my parents have taught me to always maintain good grades. Out of my siblings, I have done the best in school and I continue to do so. I do this due to the fact that it makes both of my parents very happy when I come home with a good report card. This relates to Watson's theory that personality is the sum of rewards. Since I got rewarded with the extra love, I continue to keep up the same actions to keep receiving that reward.
  • B.F. Skinner

    B.F. Skinner
One of the most hardest times in my life was when I was 12 years old and had to go through my first family death. The death of my grandfather hit me extremely hard. Ever since this moment, I have grown thicker skin and not many people have seen me cry. I almost look heartless because I have been through many sad events since this and refuse to let people see me cry. This relates to Skinner's theory because I act like this due to the negative feeling this negative event gives me.
