    Costa Rica To The United States
    Many years ago, my grandma lived and grew in Costa Rica on a plantation farm. For a better life and education, she moved to the United States for college. Later in her college years, she found the love of her life, my grandpa. They moved back to Costa Rica and gave birth to my dad and lived there for 5 years. Wanting to give my dad a better life, they had moved back to the United States into Ohio. This has given many Costa Rican background.
  • 9/11

    9/11
    On September 11, 2001 a massive act of terrorism occurred and was known as "9/11". On this day 2 airplanes full of passengers were hjacked and crashed in The World Trade Center, where many business men and women had been working that day. My family and I thought it would be a respectful and good idea to go to New York and visit the 9/11 memorial that had been made there. Seeing all the names printed on the walls was horrible and made me realize just how terrible this act of terrorism was.

    I was born on July 23, 2003. This was the best day of my life because I was brought into the earth to a great and loving family. I was born at St.Joseph Hospital in Pontiac. I was a great baby and I know it from all the memories my family tells me about.

    When I was about three years old, my family and I went to a dog adoption center to adopt a new family dog. He was going to be my first ever dog and I was very excited to welcome him to the family. While looking at many dogs, just one had caught our eye and he was soon to be the new family dog. Later, his name became Murray.

    In the 1st grade, I had heard of a new sport that was called "lacrosse". I wanted to try it out and weeks later went to my first lacrosse camp. Right away I loved it and still play today. After years of playing, it seems like it gets even more fun as competition increases.

    About two years ago, I met my dads new wife and her kids. She had three kids around my age and I was excited to meet them. At the point we had met them, my dad was not married to her, but was strongly considering it. They were very nice and kind kids. I was really excited.

    Moving To Bloomfield District
    In the summer before 8th grade year, my mom decided it would be the best for my sister and I to move to Bloomfield, to live and go to school. I wasn't very sure how it would be, but had a feeling it would be good. I came from a private school in Lake Orion and had a great learning experience there in the past. The first day of 8th grade at East Hills Middle School, was great. I made lots of friends and great memories throughout the year, and continue to make more throughout high school.

    Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting
    On February 14, 2018 a horrific event had occurred. On this date, there had been a massive school shooting in Parkland, Florida. 14 students and teachers were murdered on this rampage done by a former student, Nick Jacob Cruz. After this horrific event, this made me realize how we have to start to look out for those kinds of people and if you see something suspicious, report it right away without any seconds thoughts.

    The song Smile by Lil Duval, represents my identity the most because through all the hard times, I always try to smile and make the best of all moments in my life. One of the lyrics in this song go " I'm living my best life
    Ain't goin' back and forth with you ****** ". This is basically saying that I am not worried about other people's comments about me or anything else.
  • The Passing of My Aunt

    The Passing of My Aunt
    On October 21, 2018, my Aunt was fighting the hard battle of cancer and could not fight any longer. This had been a hard time for my family and obstacle to get around in life. In previous years she had been fighting breast cancer and won that battle, but years later was diagnosed with leukemia.
