Personal Evolution of Technology

  • Overhead Projector

    Overhead Projector
This was my first memory of technology being used in the classroom. Many of my elementary teachers starting in first grade would use overhead projectors to demonstrate problems for math or to read picture books.
  • Computer Lab

    Computer Lab
Throughout my elementary school experience we had a central computer lab that almost every class used. We would visit once a week starting in third grade to learn how to type, research information, and create powerpoints.
  • Powerpoint Presentations

    Powerpoint Presentations
I made my first powerpoint presentation in fourth grade for our mission project. This was one of the biggest projects of the year that we were guided through which was helpful because we began using powerpoints more frequently in following classes.
  • Google Classroom

    Google Classroom
Google Classroom was introduced in middle school and was my introduction to online assignments compared to everything being on paper prior.
  • Laptops in the Classroom

    Laptops in the Classroom
I went to a small, private high school where we were all given laptops upon starting as freshman. As opposed to middle school which was more of a hybrid of typed and handwritten work, everything including most note taking was done online.

Google Classroom to Canvas to Camino
My foundation for online assignments transitioned from Google Classroom in middle school to Canvas in high school to Camino (another form of Canvas) in enrolling at Santa Clara University.
