Kent State Massacre
Due to the escalation of the Vietnam War, many students began to protests on their campus to end the war. At Kent State University, the national guard was called and they fired onto the crowd of unarmed students. 4 were left dead while 9 were injured. (Key Concept 8.1.2) -
Watergate Scandal
Several burglars were caught by Forest in the complex of the Watergate Hotel. They were caught wiretapping and stealing documents which were connected to President Nixon and the next presidential election. It became a national scandal. (Key Concept 8.2.3)
