    Early Literacy inside the Womb
    My mom started reading to me in the later part of her pregnancy. She continued to read to me every night until the age of two and a half, around the time my sister was born.

    I was able to write my first name at the age of four. I would write my name big. The "i" in my name looked like a lollipop and I wrote the "K" in my name backwards and slanted.

    In fifth grade I was apart of my school's band, I played the trombone. I had to learn, read, and play sheet music. The first song I learned/played was "Hot Cross Buns".

    In ninth grade, I took a Spanish class. For the duration of the class, I could only speak and write Spanish. I had a hard time with pronunciation, sentence structure, and keeping up with the class. My final grade was a "D" (passing).

    In middle school I took choir class. One assignment I had to do was create a song with a partner. We had a lot of creative ideas.The song was three verses long and we sung the chorus together. The song was called "We Will Always Be Together".

    My oldest son said his first word at eleven months. I was hoping the word would be "mommy" but it was "ball". I was excited he said his first word but was disappointed it was "ball".

    I taught my infant class basic sign language words such as "all done", "more", "milk", "eat", "please", and "thank you". I was so amazed by how quick they were able to learn. Some of the infants were able to repeat certain words. Parents were very impressed. I felt like this was a huge accomplishment in my Early Childhood career.

    Writing My First Big Paper
    For my English 121 class, I had to write a eight page paper on a global issue. I chose to write on "The Guardianship Law in Saudi Arabia". It was a very powerful and interesting topic to write on. However I never finish the paper because I let the number of pages intimidated me and I didn't know how to write such a lengthy paper. I end up not finishing the paper and received an "F" in the class.

    My youngest son said his first word at nine months. I was shocked because his first word came two months before my oldest son. I think his first word came early because my oldest son loved talk to him. Again, my heart was crushed because his first word was "dada". His dad thought it was so funny that "dada" was his first word.

    I am writing my own wedding vows for my wedding next Spring, in June. I am very nervous but can't wait to express my love for my future husband in front of everyone we love.
