In Antioch, Paul did as would normally do preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ convincingly, and the Gentiles and proselytes begged Paul to stay and to preach the word of God. A common theme took place of rejection by some Jews and Paul and Barnabas were banished from the city. (Ruins of Antioch) -

At Iconium unbelieving Jews stirred up many Gentiles, and the city was divided where some who were unbelieving planned to stone them. And Paul and Barnabas had to flee for Lystra and Derbe.

In Lystra Paul healed a cripple man from birth. The Lycaonians called Barnabas Zeus and Paul Hermes, and they attempted to create a sacrifice in honor of Zeus, but Paul and Barnabas stopped them from proclaiming the Lord. Paul was nearly stoned to death here. -

Since there was much dissension, Paul and Barnabas traveled back to the city to strengthen the newly made disciples in the Gospel. -
