During Nazi occupation in Holland Helen and Siegfriedwent into hiding along with many other jews. Helen and Seigfried gave their belongings to a friend if they made it out. -
Fourtune Teller
Helen visited a fortune teller, the pyshcic told her she saw her as a widow. the teller also mentioned someone will die within the next week she also told her a man named Max would change her life ,and she said that during the next week a family member would die. -
Death of Family
When Helen and her mother in law are forced to leave the country her mother in law commits suicide scared of starting over in a new place. When she passed she gave her left over money for a visa and trip to cuba for Helen and Siegfried. -
Dorises New life
Helen promised hereself if she makes it out of German occupation she will find her daughter and they will start a new life together. When Helen finnaly held her baby she stared at her blankly and confused, Helen found a place where her and Dorris could safely livebut it wasnt how she expected, it was an attic with 2 bed. Every night Dorris would toss and turn and cry. Helen knew Dorris would have a better life with her adopted parents.
