    Need Identified: Online Classroom Platform that is accessible at home and at school. Teachers will develop a comprehensive year-long curriculum guide to empower parents during Monday and Friday home study days.
    Teachers are currently using resources provided to us; other teachers' canvas courses. We want to create our own online canvas course to be able to personalize it per student and adapt it to our specific mastery based needs.

    After verifying my need aligns with Springs Charter School's Mission and Vision, I will reach out to my Senior Administrative Cabinet. An online classroom platform will allow my site to make our learning personalized and mastery based.

    Identify Key Stakeholders
    After taking my proposal to my senior administrative cabinet and getting approval, I will identify my key stakeholders. Once key stakeholders are chosen, I will present my proposal and use feedback when developing my implementation plan. I will explain the "why" and develop the "how" during this stage. By involving my "key" stakeholders, they will be apt to "get on board" with fidelity.

    I will analyze key stakeholder feedback and look over which resources I already have to implement my plan and what resources are still needed to see it through. I will list needs and begin making plans on acquiring said needs.

    It is now time to gain the buy in of the general stakeholders. At this time, I will be giving the information to the rest of my teachers. I will explain the "why" and tell them the "how" by going over my implementation plan.Lastly, I will question my teachers and begin looking for my "pilot" teacher candidate.

    After analyzing my feedback, I will identify one teacher as this years candidate teacher. This teacher will be trained properly on creating canvas courses. After training is complete, this teacher will be qualified to train all other teachers how to create canvas courses.

    Teacher candidate will receive Canvas Course professional development. It is expected that this teacher will produce first canvas course by end of 1st semester (2019/20).
  • Parent Buy In

    Parent Buy In
    During our Student Agreement/Parent Conferences, I will hold a parent meeting explaining the "why" and the "how" to the families to start gaining parent buy ins. Most parents are currently frustrated with student home study days; therefore, I believe the change will be a positive transition.
  • Parent Training Canvas Kickoff Night

    Parent Training Canvas Kickoff Night
    A parent /student training will take place. During this time, parents and students will be trained on what to expect with our online classroom platforms. They will understand the grade-book, videos, assignments, attendance, and overall online classroom expectations. During this kickoff night, I hope to gain the excitement needed going into next year's online platform.
  • All Staff Canvas Course Training

    All Staff Canvas Course Training
    End of year all staff professional development. During this time, the basics of creating utilizing canvas courses in the classroom will be discussed. After completion, teachers will be familiar with basic features of canvas.
  • All Staff Creating Online Courses Hands On Training

    All Staff Creating Online Courses Hands On Training
    Staff members were trained in June on the set up and features of Canvas. Therefore, during this time, the staff will be trained on the basic know how of creating their first course. Throughout the training staff will create their course and set up their rosters. Staff will be encouraged to continue to explore their canvas course upon completion of the training.

    Candidate teacher will show a preview of our 1st ever Springs Cherry Valley Canvas Course!! After preview, staff will share feedback with candidate teacher. Candidate teacher will take feedback into consideration when completing the creation of our canvas course.

    Candidate teacher will show another preview of our Canvas Course. After preview and discussion, staff will share feedback with candidate teacher. Candidate teacher will take feedback into consideration when completing the creation of our canvas course.
  • Canvas Course Complete

    Canvas Course Complete
    Our 1st ever Springs Cherry Valley Canvas Course is complete!! Pilot classes now have access to an online classroom platform during their Monday/Friday home study days. Students will no longer be completing a packet independently on their home study days. Parents are empowered and can now take charge while educating their children at home.
