    During the time of Ramses, the workers were provided with a medical contract to help them with their health needs

    Hippocrates

    During 400 BC time, Hippocrates, the father of medicine worked hard to provide people with health support, especially those who suffered from respiratory diseases because of the work in mines.

    Romans

    The Romans were aware of the risks that workers faced as part of their job so they offered health support to them. They built baths, hospitals and tried to clean the water that people drank.
  • Middle Age

    Middle Age

    Workers began to be aware of the dangers at work. Workers were injured by machinery. They created Unions to protect themselves and get better occupational health.
  • NIOSH

    NIOSH

    In 1971 was created the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). This was created to provide health support because many workers were dying. This institute is known today as OSHA and offers orientation and resources to make the work places safer.
