After meeting in Washington it had been suggested to develop a team of leaders, educators, preceptors, nursing recruitment, retentions officer, NPD and nurse residents to discuss and develop a standard process of onboarding, orientation, continued monitoring and goal setting for new nurses as they transition in practice -

Goal of Program Established
Goals of the program were finalized using SMART format Goal include
1.85% of Nurse Residents will state feeling job fulfillment/satisfaction by the end of nurse residency
2. 85% of Medsurg nurse residents will remain at highland at the 12-month mark of employment
3. 90% of Nurse residents will complete EBP by the end of the 12-month program
4. 90% will have completed clinical competency and decision-making ability as documented on the pathway
5. Alternate- pain scores documented prior to meds
