Germans arrive in Palestine
The jews from Palestine, which is where elie lives, htought that the Russians defeated the Germans. So they were kind of celebrating, and not worrying about anything, until three days later, German Army Vehicles made their appearence on the streets. -

elie's time through the concentration camps. -
the eight days of passover
on the seventh day of the passover the Jews were forced to stay in their own homes and no one was allowed to come outside for three days. The same days the Jews were forbidden to own gold, jewelrys, or any valuables. But some jews hid their stuff. -
the yellow star
in the eight days of passover the Jews were forced to wear yellow stars and the Jews weren't allowed to do anything and then they were moved to the Ghettos. -
leaving the ghetto
For a few days the Germans would line some jews up, do roll call, and then send them on their way out of the ghetto, and on the last day is when elie and his family leave. -
The train ride
After walking all day long the Jews were forced 80 in one cart for the train ride to their new destination. -
Birkenau
the jews finally arrive in Birkenau and were forced to be in two lines, females to one line and males in the other. Thats the last time elie and his father ever see the rest of their family again. -
Franek
Franek wants elie gold tooth but elie wouldn't give it to him so he tortured his father for weeks until finally elie gave up and gave franek the tooth. -
elie gets punished
Elie catches Idek with a young polish girl and an half hour later Elie get 25 whips to the back and when their done elie is very weak and can barely stand -
hangings
The germans made the jews watch three people get hanged (two men and a young boy) and when they were done the germans made the jews look at their faces and that night elie said the soup tasted like corpses. -
Selections
The jews were forced to under go opstacles to show that their strong enough to stay and not go to the crematorium, Elie made it the first time but his father didn't but on the second time, his father made it. -
elie loses his father
elies father gets really weak and sick and on january 29th he wakes up to see a different sick person in his dads bunk, elie wanted to feel sad but his consience was saying free at last because he didnt want to take care of his father anymore. -
Americans come to save the jews
the americans saved the rest of the jews and took them to the hospital to take of them. -
Elie
A couple days after being treated, elie was finally able to get up and when he went to look at himself in the mirror, he will never forget that look in his eyes, it was like a corpse was comtemplating him. -
elie went to see the doctor
Elie's foot was very infected in the wimter and he decided to see the doctor, then he had to get an operation on it and couldn't walk on it for a few weeks. -
the march
A couple days after elie's operation, he heard they were going to march soon so elie went out of the infirmerary to see his dad to know what to do, and they decided to march and they were last block to march. -
the trains
they were foreced a 100 jews in a cart this time and at the end only 10 or 12 were left elie was sixteen. They arrived in Buchenwald.
