Malcolm X was one of the biggest leaders of the Nation of Islam.
Malcolm graduated high school at the top of his class. Malcolm was put in jail for 10 years for multiple crimes where he learned of the Nation of Islam
Malcolm X devoted all of his days in jail to studying the religion.
Once released from jail Malcolm worked his way up to be Muhammads rights hand man
However Malcolm uncovered that Muhammad was cheating on his wife and was so appauled that he terminated his membership. -

Malcolm Breaks Ties with the NOI
After making his Hajj to Mecca Malcolm X discovered that his mentor, Muhammad had been involved in 6 relationships with women inside the NOI, and had children with some. One of the beliefs of the NOI is that members aren't suppose to have children until they are married. When Malcolm was asked to cover up the scandal, he then cut ties with the NOI and went off on his own. -
Farrakhan leads Million Man March

The Million Man March was a gathering in October of 1995 where the Nation of Islam and Civil Rights organizations met. There was a crowd of reportedly up to a million people but may have been closer to 700,000 people. -

Today the NOI is still working to improve the lives of blacks and try and stop the violence and abuse that is going on in the community peacefully.
The nation is also striving to extend the universal expression of the principles of peace.
