My Timeline

  • Karate

    Karate
Around the time I was four, my mom signed me up for karate class in a back room in the Patterson Recreation Center. Within a month, I had become completely obsessed with it and I would go to practice 5 days a week and a tournament every other weekend. I was very close friends with my coach's son and we would hang out every day while his dad taught the adult classes. There was not a single day I would go without doing something involved with karate.
  • MMA

    MMA
A year after I started karate, my coach decided to put me in a more advanced MMA class with a bunch of kids who were a lot older than me. I immediately fell in love with it and before I knew it I was taking two, ninety-minute classes a week on top of my karate classes. I was technically never allowed to have an MMA fight in the state of New York because as of right now it is illegal to have MMA events. Fortunately, I did have an "MMA" bout where one round was boxing and the second was wrestling.
  • Joining the Wrestling Team

    Joining the Wrestling Team
Although I had a very strong background in wrestling, I never decided to pick up the sport until I was old enough to join the modified team. I had joined along with My friends Devyn, Derek, and Manny who took weeks to convince. Being coached my Mr. Bloom was one of the best learning experiences in my entire life. He taught me things I definitely should've put to use in the past few years and havent due to my lack of I don't know what. I wasn't the best wrestler on the team but I was good enough.
  • The First Time I Failed a Class

The First Time I Failed a Class
When I was in 7th grade, I hated a teacher for the first time. English class with Mr. Daly was something I absolutely dreaded going to every day. I was the dictionary definition of insubordinate in that class. I never listened to a word he said or handed in a single assignment. Doing this turned into a habit and I started doing it in classes even with teachers I had really liked a lot. This will continue on for years but hopefully will clear up in the end and everything will be okay.
  • The Time I Broke My Wrist

The Time I Broke My Wrist
In 8th grade, I was playing football on a snow covered and frozen over turf field with about 15 of my friends. After playing for a couple of hours, some of us got bored and decided to slide around on ice. On my first try I slipped and landed directly on my hand facing the wrong way. I panicked at first but realize it didn't hurt at all so I decided to keep playing football. It wasn't until 2 days later that I realized my wrist was incredibly swollen and went straight to the hospital.
  • My First Job

    My First Job
For a few weeks I had heard all of my friends talking about this place that was hiring everyone that applied. Liberty Paintball is a hot, stinky, sweaty, eye sore on top of Thunder Ridge and you know I got a job there. The staff is among the nicest and friendliest people I have met and I've made some very good friends there. On the other hand, the owner, Pete is a huge racist prick. I stopped getting called in about 5 months ago and have worked 3 times since. I not sure if I'm employed anymore.
  • The Time I Fell on Stage

The Time I Fell on Stage
The first time I ever stepped foot on stage to sing for my friend Davey's band was the most embarrassing moment of my life. After hanging out with Davey before his set at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, I had pulled him to the side and asked him if I would be able to do guest vocals for my favorite song, he replied "of course!". The moments leading up to my part were terrifying and before I knew it, I was walking out to grab the microphone only to fall in front of a sold out venue.
  • The Best Concert I've Ever Been to

The Best Concert I've Ever Been to
Knocked Loose, Gideon, Expire, and Counterparts are all meaningless band names to you. To me, those names remind me of the most amazing shows I've ever been to. The venue was the basement of Webster Hall in the city and it was completely packed, tours like this never come around here so all the super underground grunge kids came out of hiding for the night. The show these bands put on was an out of body experience to me and all I can remember was thinking " this is what I want to do".
  • Getting Dropped From Physics

    Getting Dropped From Physics
As you can probably tell, I am a horrible student that could be an amazing one. I realized this last year when I was dropped from physics in the middle of the year. I had grown very comfortable in that class with other students and Mr. Douglas. One day I was called down to Mr. Stacks office for a meeting to tell me that I was getting dropped from my class. I didn't know how to react. Luckily my mom was in the meeting to prevent me from totally causing a scene in the main office.
  • Senior Year

    Senior Year
I've always been an absolutely horrible student. Going into this year is very nerve racking for me because I messed everything up for myself. I know I have a lot of support going into this year but I get overwhelmed with school very easily because I simply don't care about any of the content. I have to graduate on time or else I am an embarrassment and I don't want to remembered like that. I want to prove everyone wrong and graduate on time and that's what I plan on doing.
