Trust V. Mistrust: Children develop trust parents provide care and affection which leads to close bonds and connection. A lack of this will lead to mistrust. Example: My mom really cared for me during these years because my Dad was in law enforcement and was rarely home. I still trusted my dad but was always with my mom.

Sensorimotor- reflexes, part of learning and children are using their senses in order to learn and grow. Example: At about 11 months I was stood up on my own and was bouncing a ball, but I was not able to walk yet.

Preoperational stage: emerging language, child is learning more about the world. Egocentrism- child assumes other people think just like them. Example: As a young kid at around age 5, anytime someone would come over to our house I would ask them if they wanted to play with any of my toys and I would constantly bother them.

Active and Peer Acceptance: actively playing, running, or getting involved in activities along with sports. Example: At about age 5 I started playing baseball, hockey, and football for the first time. Growing up in school it was easier to make friends through sports and easier to be liked.

Nuclear Family- A family with two parents and their children. This type of family functions the best and has positive effects after growing up. Example: I have lived in a Nuclear Family my whole life. We have been super close to each other my whole life, and my parents have taught us the importance of family.

Diet and Exercise: Starting healthy habits early have shown benefits. Developing good health habits benefit emotions, mental health, physical health, and decrease obesity. Example: Every day after school I would be outside in my neighborhood playing with the other kids in my neighborhood.

Emerging Adulthood- Sticking with healthy habits and exercise. Help from my family but more on my own and learning new life skills. Example: As I am growing up in this stage, I have started triathlons at the age of 14 and have continued to do them. I have also continued to play baseball.

Emerging Adulthood- Identity V. Role Confusion
Success in social relationships leads to the ability to identify your true self. While failure of this and not fitting in leads to confusion. Example: As I am growing up in this stage I have been blessed with friends. I also have stuck with baseball and am playing in college. -
